If You Don't Believe.....

believe
If you don’t believe .....then you will not take action for your dreams.
If you don’t believe .....then you will believe in someone else’ dream.
If you don’t believe .....then you will have no strength to pull the trigger.
If you don’t believe .....then you will not persist.
If you don’t believe .....then you will live for nothing.
If you don’t believe .....then you will just watch them soar.
If you don’t believe .....then miracles won’t happen.
If you don’t believe .....then you will live your life in full of regrets.
If you don’t believe .....then you cannot have it at all.
If you don’t believe .....then you will die in vain.

The Seven Fingered Encoder

On the New Year’s Eve of 2005, Franco was very happy throwing firecrackers on the street. He was with his whole family welcoming the New Year’s Day. They were very happy at that time enjoying the loud explosion of different fireworks. Their happiness was cut when one of the firecrackers explode on Franco’s hands. He miscalculated the time of lighting the explosive firecracker. He was immediately sent to hospital to treat his wounded fingers. His life was saved but his three fingers were not. Two fingers were removed from his right and one from the left to avoid infection. This incident has changed the life of Franco a lot. He was having a hard time to right on paper during his College days. He also experienced difficulties in holding something like a cup of water. Things got worse when Franco was employed on an encoding company. He was immediately hired because there was a mass hiring on the company and because of that his deficiency was ignored. He is struggling on his typing speed and his team leader is always making a demand to increase his performance. Some of his employees were making fun out of him because of how his fingers look when he was typing. There is a recognition day that was given to all the employees at the end of the month to reward them for their terrific job. Franco was dreaming of becoming an employee of the month. He is already fired up by all the mocking of his officemates. He makes a strategy that will increase his level of performance. Even without a PC in his home, Franco bought a second hand keyboard and began to practice typing by stroking the words on his favorite book. Because their job was not merely 100% typing, Franco also memorizes all the coding of their job so that he will not be looking on their master copy anymore, this is one of the primary reasons why his officemates is slowing down, they do not study all the things to be memorized. Franco was relentless in practicing and memorizing, there were days when he was just sleeping for only two hours just to be good at his job. He is not even taking a break at the office, he is just bringing biscuits on his cubicle and silently eating it while he was working so nobody can notice him. His team leader saw a rapid improvement on his work but he didn’t address this to the whole team. At last on the 9th month of his service in the company, Franco’s hard work and dedication was finally recognized. He was named as the employee of the month and he gathers the highest production of his team. All of his officemates were amazed at him, they no longer make fun of him and he earns their respect. Franco’s eyes were in tears when accept the award. He humbly accepts it without saying anything but deep inside Franco is very happy and his next goal was already set and that is to become a manager.

Difference Between Do It Now and Do It Later

There is really no big difference between doing your task now or doing it later when it comes to what are you doing. You are still doing the same thing but the results have big difference. They also have different advantages and disadvantages. According to survey successful people do their task on time and even ahead of time while struggling people tend to procrastinate often and finish their work on rush hours and beyond the deadline. Here are some pros and cons of doing your task now and doing it later.

DO IT NOW
Pros:
1. Stress is insignificant, there is enough room for relaxation once the task is finished.
2. Your boss will happy in your performance and promotion is flirting around.
3. You can have more time once revision is asked. Tension never arises

Cons:
1. Stress will take over. You cannot think clearly because you are running out of time.
2. Chances of making mistakes are very large because there is no more time to double check your work.
3. Your energy is very low, fear is sucking your energy because there is a feeling that you may not finish your work and your boss might kill you.

Kill Your Fear or Let Your Fear Kills You

What is your biggest fear in life? Getting embarrassed? Taking responsibility? Unable to make the expectations of people around you? Getting rejected? Saying No? Fear can be big or small but it bring the same result...it takes out the best in us. If you are afraid to ask your crush to go out on a date then you cannot have him/her. If you are afraid to ask for an increase in salary to your boss then he will not give you. If you are afraid to take chances then you will not shine. Fear is the biggest obstacle in our goals and sometimes it causes you not to move forever. Have you ever heard of a story where somebody gets killed because of their fear? Of all the people I ask, their answers are the same, it is NO. Fear cannot kill you physically but it can kill you mentally. That is why phobias are developed, phobias are repeated fears that grow and grow everyday if we do not find a way to get rid of it. Fear can ruin your life and you can miss all the opportunities that may happen to you because of not trying. There is an acronym for F.E.A.R – Fake Emotions Always Reoccurring. According to psychiatrists fear is not real. We are just the one who gave them life. Fear is very unfair, it cannot be killed instantly but it can kill us very fast. The number one solution for killing fear is to do what you fear most and then it will stay away in our heads slowly. Imagine your life without fear are you going to be a star? A millionaire? An icon? But imagine your life full of fear. How does it look? I bet it is not pretty, so kill your fear or let your fear kills you.

Sardine Makes My Day

I’ve got a hangover from our drinking session last night with my old friends, we really have a lot of fun reminiscing our past and talking about our future. I vomit when I woke up because I extended the limit of my drinking. I think I drink eight bottles in all. I am very lousy the whole day I feel so lazy because I can still feel the alcohol in my body. I feel hungry at 12:30 p.m so I look for food on our table. I’ve seen corned beef, vegetables and this attractive good smelling sardine. I am not a big fan of sardines and I only eat it when it is the last option. Because my taste buds is sick and tired of corned beef anymore and the vegetable doesn’t look delicious I give the sardines a try. I was amazed by its taste and I almost finished off all what is on the plate. It is hot and spicy and I think its spiciness has lessened my hangover. The simple sardines left a smile on my face after I finish my lunch. I’ve learned a lesson that a simple dish can still make me happy. All these days I’ve been very choosy on my food and always trying the expensive restaurants but still the results are the same. I’ve been dreaming of cars, houses and lots of money all my life but I never knew that simple things can also make us happy. We just have to learn how to appreciate what we have and never curse our life for not having all the things that we want. Life is a very special gift only if we can appreciate every second of it.

Choose the Path Less Travelled

Some of the High School graduates still don’t know what course to take upon entering College. Many of them just follow the advices of their parents because they think it is the best for them. While some of them just take the same course chosen by their friends to avoid being left alone. They don’t know that at the end this will cause them problems because they will find it difficult to study the course that they are not interested. This causes them to shift to other course to pursue what they really want. On the early 90’s, Engineering was one of the highest in demand courses in the Philippines. A lot of boys have taken this course because they think that this will bring them a lot of money even if they have no idea what it is all about. Even some women take this college course too. At the late 90’s the Nursing course was the highest in demand. As usual a lot of incoming Freshman College students take it. They were amazed and easily get influenced by the news they hear from Medias that Nursing was so popular in every part of the world and you can get a high salary with this profession. Before the end of the 21st century nursing graduates has experienced troubles in finding jobs. A lot of countries already declared that their countries were already crowded by Nurses from different countries. This was the hard times for the newly graduated nurses because they have to find another job in order to survive. If this was really their passion then they will fight for it and don’t look for another job. The main lesson here is don’t follow the mainstream instead follow what your heart says. Successful people make their own paths and never follow the path of others. They stand for what they believe and no matter how hard the journey is, they will keep on persevering and do whatever it takes to make their dreams come true. In any aspect of life we should never listen to what other people say, if we have to disobey our parents or our elders and friends we have to do it for the righteous cause.

Follow Your Instincts

Many of us wants to do something but are afraid because they think that something might go wrong or people will mock them if they fail or do something wrong. I also experienced this same feeling when I was in College. My group mate and I was about to finish our special project but suddenly we had an argument about a single part in our project. He was very confident that what he was saying is right and keeps on raising voice at me because he thinks that I am making our situation worse. Our argument is about a simple method on how to solve a problem in Trigonometry. Because he got higher grades than me I allow him to take control of the project but deep inside I know that what I was telling him was the right thing. The deadline of the project comes and we submitted what we’ve finished to our professor. Our professor was kind and calls the two of us to inform us that there is a part of our project that we have mistakes. He was shocked that it is his methods that have errors. Our professor told us that we can repeat the process to make it right but he will give us lower grades because of the second chance that we get. My groupmate apologizes to me and he allows me to do my method. I was really in full of regret that time. If I only
follow my instincts
and stand for what I believe we could have get higher grades. That time of my life opens my eyes and teach me to never allow someone to take control if I knew I was 100 percent right.

Who Is Your Hero?

We as ordinary people tend to idolized or praise other people that grab our attention. Mainly because of how they look, they way they stand, they way they speak or the way they carry their clothes.  Some people idolized other people because of their achievements, their talents or they see some traits that they don’t have with the people they idolized. People that usually become our idols are artists, bands, basketball superstar, politician, commercial models or any character that is famous and very appealing. People got crazy when they see their idols, they will do whatever it takes to get noticed and to go closer to the person they admired.  They even buy some stuffs like posters, pictures or anything that reminds them of their idol, according to them they have an incredible feeling when they see their idols even if it was just on picture or on television.  I also have idols but I don’t consider them as an idols, I consider them as my heroes. Unlike any other personalities who are beautiful, rich and famous my heroes are not and maybe you will laugh at me because these people that I am referring to are disabled persons. Yes they are, I have three favourite heroes in all. The first one is blind her name was Helen Keller. Her disability to see beautiful things around her was never an obstacle to spread her inspirational words. She sees beautiful things by her heart and she inspired a lot of individuals to never give up no matter what your situation is. My second hero was name Matt Scott he is playing basketball despite of sitting on a wheelchair, he can’t walk but it didn’t stop him from playing the sport he love and be good at it. He popularized the Nike Commercial “No Excuses” watch it and you will somehow see yourself. My last hero was named Jessica Cox. The lady has no hands but never underestimate her because she was the first licensed pilot with no hands and not only that, she was also a black belter in taekwondo and a very good swimmer. I cannot imagine what their lives would be if they were not disabled. Yes their bodies were incomplete but they didn’t consider their selves incapable of succeeding and doing the things they love. They really inspire me to make no excuses to get what I want and work harder because they did it with their condition and I too can do it because I am complete. These kinds of people are the real inspiration and they set the standard of how we should live our lives. Unlike any other people who claim that they entertain people and inspire them by displaying their beautiful faces and clothes. We should be smart of choosing the people who will inspire us and not be deceived by the people who just use us to gain their status in life.

Why Do I Keep On Trying?

Why do I keep on trying?
Why do I keep on moving?
Is it for fame?
Is it for money?

My heart is wounded by failures
My dreams are shattered by doubts
My thick skull has cracked
My fast legs have freezes

3 nights without earning a single cent
36 hours without a nap
Silent voices whispering to stop
Will of heart says get on top

Is this the life I’ve been dreaming of?
Are my dreams worth dying for?
Still no answers for my questions
Still keep fighting and moving forward

No doubt that I can do it
It’s just a matter of time to get it
Destiny is my slave
My fears are on their grave

Clock is ticking
My mind is boggling
History is mine to conquer
Don’t stop is the only way to get closer

Wind of change can I ask a favour?
Lead me to the place where I can find my armor
Who needs it anyway, my will cannot be broken
The color of my dreams will never be darken.

Little Things Makes the Difference

A regular janitor will just clean his designated area and once he feel that it looks clean he will stop working while a superb janitor will make sure that the area does not just look clean but it also smells good. They both don’t know that their manager is watching their moves and is preparing a promotion. A regular professor will prepare a lesson plan, gives quizzes, assignments, seat works and even make his students do the reporting. An outstanding professor will make sure his class is enjoying his lesson. He will take his class into a different level, will give rewards to those who have high grades, will establish a good relationship with the students and treat them as if they were his family, at the end who do you think will get the high grades in evaluation? A mediocre athlete will do his daily routine, he will repeat the process over and over again until he gets bored and his desire to become great dies down while a great athlete is like a scientist, he keeps on finding other enjoyable exercises that will keep him from being motivated. He will search for the proper nutrition that will make his body fit and super healthy. He will beat his records and will never stay stagnant and when the time calls him to retire, his achievements will stay in history forever. Our society has often misinterpreted why other people works so hard and never stop like a crazy dog who continues to search for its food forever. They don’t know that those little things can also make a difference in their lives. In a running competition a first place has an advantage of only milliseconds to the second place. In basketball you can win the game by buzzer beater, the shortest time is .3 seconds. In boxing even if you lose the first 11 rounds you can still K.O your opponent by a split second. When you are applying for a job, even if you arrived on time the job can be closed by another person earlier than you in 5 minutes. Your house can turn into ashes if you leave your phone overcharged for 30 minutes. In life those little things can change our lives forever, those little things can destroy or make our lives better. The decision is ours if we choose to put an extra effort to our jobs and go for an extra mile. Those little things are little but can have a large impact on our lives.

Journey VS Destiny

Life is a journey not a destination, is this real? For me it is, based on my observation on the people around me it is 100 percent real. For those who believe that they will succeed they don’t believe in destiny. They will try everything to make their lives better even if they face the hardest circumstances in their lives. They don’t accept their weaknesses, they believe that all they need to do is work hard and they will become stronger but for those who believe in destiny, they accept their lives as it is. They believe in fortune tellers and take their life for granted. How about those who are drug addicts? Are they destined to become one? If George Bush was destined to become president then he will just watch TV and let it happened. If Michael Jordan was destined to become an MVP then he will just play casino and skip practice. A lot of people don’t know that MJ works like hell before getting his elite status in NBA. How about the criminals? Are they destined to kill people? Don’t they have choices to live in a decent life? Sometimes destiny becomes an excuse for a single individual to not perform at his peak level. He believes that his effort will be wasted because he is not destined to become great and it is reserved for another person. If destiny is real then Olympic competitors will not sacrifice their lives for the gold medal, they will just rely purely on luck. It is right that we cannot force nature, we cannot escape death but we can choose the life that we want. The choice is ours it is up to us if we want to believe.

Motivational Sounds

Music has played a large role in our lives. It can tuned our moods from being sad to happy or the other way around. Have you ever remember a time when you was just listening to a certain song and then it suddenly change your mood? For example you were writing your list of groceries then the soundtrack of Titanic was played. You will feel romantic and remember your high school crush right? What if the Requiem for a Dream was played? How would you feel? scared or strange? Music has different meanings depending on the lyrics or the purpose of the composer. It can make us feel good or bad but it still depend on our ears. Same also in motivation, there are songs that can motivate us if we are feeling lazy or tired. I have my favourite list here of songs of motivation that can help anyone change their mood instantly:

1. Remember the Name – Fort Minor
2. Privilege - Incubus
3. The Warmth - Incubus
4. Devour – Shinedown
5. Live for this – Hatebreed
6. Face the pain – Stemm
7. Heart of a champion – Nelly
8. It’s my time – Fabulous
9. Dream Big – Emily Shackelton
10. Metalingus – Alter Bridge
11. All these things that I’ve done – The Killers
12. Wolf Like me – TV on the Radio
